May I introduce to you my father, Tommy Grayson, inviting you to join him on a tour of York. This is a tiny section taken from an advertising flyer way back in 1987. Here we are, his 3 daughters some 18 years later offering you the very same invitation! Dad was one of the very first tour Guides of York starting this job in 1969 and to give you some idea just how long ago that was.... I was 15 then and I’m a grandma now! He was known all over the country, even as far and wide as Australia and America for his very distinctive Yorkshire sense of humour, interwoven into his very individual commentry, that introduced, literally thousands and thousands of vistors to York to our very beautiful city. So why don’t you come and join one of us on a City Tour of York that has been researched and developed by my father, me and my sister’s, for over 36 years!
Our company Logo. ‘T’ is for Tommy and the 3 Yorkshire Roses for his 3 daughters who took over the business in 1989 when he died at the age of only 58 We call ourselves Yorkshire Belles, as we are 3 born and bred Yorkshire ladies! We have chosen the Yorkshire Rose to represent us as we are all married to Yorkshire lads and if we wait for a compliment from them I think we could wait a long long time!
